Optimization allows management to take an active role and look at things like operations, cost and sequencing in the planning and design of water systems."
Are you interested in learning the latest developments in the field of optimization?
Optimatics now holds workshops for engineers to learn the latest industry knowledge in the field of water system optimization. Courses are targeted at:
• People who wish to understand how and where optimization fits within the planning process
• People who are looking to update their knowledge and skills
• People who are considering using Optimatics software or Optimatics consulting services
Introductory training
Designed for modellers and planners. The focus is on understanding optimization theory, how to apply it to design problems and gaining some practical experience with optimization of a set of simple tutorial problems.
In the introductory workshop, Optimatics will provide a behind-the-scenes look at how advances in optimization technologies are enabling dramatic improvements in the way that capital planning and operations activities are being carried out in the water industry. Participants will be provided with an introduction to water system optimization and will discuss how the optimization process can be applied to real-world problems common to water network modellers and planners. The course will cover the use of Genetic Algorithm optimization and the focus will be a workshop designed to train participants in formulating optimization problems and working through the options analysis process. The workshop will include hands-on training with the latest version of Optimatics’ Optimizer WDS (Water Distribution Systems) software. Students will be empowered to know at what points in a planning project they will get maximum benefit from the technology now available.
What people will learn:
Comprehensive training
Designed for companies that want an inhouse optimization specialist expertise. This training is commonly carried out in parallel with a real world study that is being worked on. The training includes a series of workshops and mentoring that sequentially build on the skills and confidence of using the Optimizer software.
The advanced training is aimed at fully developing the skills of a network modeller who’s company has made a commitment to carry out ongoing optimisation studies into the future. The training of an optimisation expert in house has the advantage of savings in both time and money. Staff completing this level of training are suitably qualified and empowered to use the Optimizer software to carry out optimization projects in-house.
Expertise in optimization will become as common as expertise in modelling is today.
