                                                    SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER | C#.NET, C++, WPF

                                                    Location: Adelaide, South Australia

                                                    Optimatics is looking for an experienced engineer who will work with a very modern desktop and distributed computing application employing the very latest .NET, C++, and WPF technologies.

                                                    This role suits an engineer with 5 or more years of experience. Someone who is prepared to experiment, to discover, and to teach what practices do and do not result in excellent software. An engineer who loves what they do and is genuinely good at it.

                                                    You’ll be working on our flagship product. This is a fat desktop client built on the very latest C#.NET, C++, and WPF technologies. It integrates ESRI GIS components, DevExpress WPF components, and interacts with our own cloud infrastructure that is hosted on AWS. You’ll be working as part of a small team of equally talented and driven engineers who take pride in the quality of their product and the experience of their users. You will have a remarkable degree of autonomy in how your team approaches its work, and your role comes with the opportunity to work across a broad spectrum of unfamiliar technologies and product areas.

We are creative and talented. We appreciate that our environment is rich with challenges to face and problems to solve, and we thrive in that environment. We celebrate agile values. We make decisions for ourselves, we manage our own workloads, and we make our own product decisions. We are positive, we are proactive, and we enjoy collaboration and communication. Above all, we are a team, and we deliver greater value working together as a team than we ever could working individually.

                                                    We believe that diversity of background, thought, and experience strengthens relationships and delivers meaningful benefits to our team and our clients. Our inclusive culture promotes the development of our team members, irrespective of gender, generation, flexible work requirements, sexual orientation, ethnicity, cultural background, or disability. We believe in pursuing best practices that industry experience has demonstrated help to achieve high quality. We believe passionately in the benefits of continuous professional learning, DevSecOps, cooperative development, TDD, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and agile philosophies.
