Every chapter of Optimatics’ story is written by people - our team, our partners, and the utilities we serve. Continuing on with our 30th anniversary celebration this week, we’re sharing a look back at the journey that brought us here (starting with Laurie Murphy’s contribution!) and the purpose that continues to drive us forward. Enjoy!🎥 ... See MoreSee Less

🎉30 Years of Optimatics! 30 Years of Impact. 🌍💧

Founded in 1996, Optimatics was created based on a master's thesis by Laurie Murphy. We began as a small company in Adelaide, Australia with a mission to help utilities achieve new levels of economic, operational and community impact. Today, we power infrastructure strategies for millions of citizens across 300 utilities and 4 continents.

As we celebrate our 30th Anniversary, we want to kick off our celebration with a message from Joshua Cantone , President of Optimatics, as he shares the great achievements we’ve made and everyone who helped us get to where we are today.

We’ll be celebrating all week here on our socials so follow along and stay tuned for an exciting update on Friday!

Growing water scarcity and uncertainty are pushing utilities to rethink how they balance changing supply with rising operational constraints.

A new U.S. Geological Survey report underscores the challenge: nearly 30 million people live in areas where available surface-water supplies are limited relative to use—a clear sign of mounting water stress across the United States.

#aquadvanced Production Planning helps utilities respond with confidence by optimizing water withdrawals and treatment from multiple sources, enabling operators to balance supply with predicted demand while staying within withdrawal or abstraction permit limits.

By integrating forecasting, scenario planning, and constraint‑aware optimization, AQUADVANCED empowers utilities to:

💧 Manage supply risk by aligning production with future demand and source availability

💧Operate within regulatory and permit constraints

💧Reduce energy costs through production scheduling during off‑peak periods

💧Adapt to tightening water resources with data‑driven, forward‑looking strategies

As scarcity intensifies, smarter production planning becomes essential for resilient, efficient, and sustainable water service.
